Killing time at my new job today (I’m waiting to get to work soon once my computer is set up!!!) I was doing some sketching – messing around in Illustrator… thinking about tweaking the Airstream camper silhouettes. I wanted to get away from the very flat side view and do something a little bit different – and remembered a poster from the Art Directors Club that was all white, with a very clean isometric drawing of an oven (opened – with a man sticking his head in).
I really liked how clean and geometric everything was, so I started sort of an isometric drawing of the camper and have been messing around with it a bit (although Portal 2 is calling my name). I want to add some texture or maybe some kind of light stochastic shading to add some more dimension. As far as ink goes – I know metallic silver will look killer on the dark blue paper I have – and I thought aside from the silver – using some glow in the dark ink may be cool in the windows (maybe some party lights). I’ve still got some work to do (as always) but like where this is heading… Any suggestions?
