A little progress on this today – I’ve started going down a path that I think will be promising, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be printing this sometime in the near future. I added a little detail – but mostly the “light” shining down. No, it’s not aliens whisking the camper away to another galaxy – Read More
Not a ton to say about these – this is something old I started and never really finished. It was similar to the Dapper Man’s Guide and the Dashing Gals prints where essentially it was easily recognizable hair silhouettes (with some accessories). I like the idea of famous duos, but could never really think of a good way to display them since they needed to be next to each other – and a grid seemed boring. Read More
Killing time at my new job today (I’m waiting to get to work soon once my computer is set up!!!) I was doing some sketching – messing around in Illustrator… thinking about tweaking the Airstream camper silhouettes. I wanted to get away from the very flat side view and do something a little bit different – and remembered a poster from the Art Directors Club that was all white, with a very clean isometric drawing of an oven (opened – with a man sticking his head in).
I really liked how clean and geometric everything was, so I started sort of an isometric drawing of the camper and have been messing around with it a bit (although Portal 2 is calling my name). I want to add some texture or maybe some kind of light stochastic shading to add some more dimension. As far as ink goes – I know metallic silver will look killer on the dark blue paper I have – and I thought aside from the silver – using some glow in the dark ink may be cool in the windows (maybe some party lights). I’ve still got some work to do (as always) but like where this is heading… Any suggestions?
I originally had this posted on the first HSR site as a download and intended to print it a while back. It was a very quick three color drawing of the most man-tastic duo to ever hit the re-runs on TBS – CHiPs. Read More
I think I started drawing out these Airstream typed trailers after watching American Pickers a while ago – but never really had a clear idea of what to do with them. Read More
“Johnny Roger” was originally started to be a lino-cut. I wanted to use it as my first D.I.Y. letterpress, which actually ended up being the more recent BLP (Bacon Letterpress). The idea was to create a Jolly Roger type icon (skull and crossed bones) – but with Johnny’s head and guitar necks crossed creating the “bones” on the bottom. Read More

Graphic design robot by day, screen print robot by night - HumanShapedRobot was created as a home for prints I do in my free time.
